The Functional Family is an in-home service that provides children’s mental health services to children ranging from ages 7-17.
It is a service that offers children, youth and their families with an initial assessment and supports the family in creating a Family Enhancement Plan that guides and tracks progress.
The family support worker provides one to one support/counselling to promote skill development in identified areas, including but not limited to:
- social skills,
- emotion regulation,
- conflict resolution,
- bullying,
- communication,
- problem solving,
- ADHD,
- ODD,
- OCD,
- Anxiety,
- FASD
- and Autism.
Parents are provided with evidence based strategies that best support their child’s individual needs for sustainable positive change and written documentation to forward to other professionals involved in your child’s life. Parents are also supported (if required) with accessing additional supports or services as well as advocating with external professionals where applicable.
